Who we are

Entertainers 4 Education Alliance  (E4EA) the entertainment industry charity,  a 501c3 non-profit organization that utilizes the power of celebrities, musicians, sports figures, high profile individuals and entertainment to promote positive messages to young people about the importance of education, personal advancement and social commitment.  Entertainers 4 Education Alliance believes that every student deserves a quality education.  E4EA is committed to strengthening our communities by lowering the alarmingly high dropout rate in America’s schools.

In 2005 music industry executive turned educator J.P Taylor and former educator turned celebrity event publicist Tonya Lewis learned about the horrifying drop out statistics, plaguing our nations schools.  The two combined their love and passion for youth and their tremendous entertainment industry relationships and resources to develop the Entertainers 4 Education Alliance a drop-out prevention movement as a way of giving back and helping to make a difference.

Since that time E4EA’s founders, staff,  diverse group of board members,  advisory committee members and volunteers has created and executed first-rate  programs that  utilize the power of multi-media and entertainment as a vehicle to connect with the youth and impact parents and the entire community.  Entertainers 4 Education Alliance is blessed and fortunate to be uniquely positioned to be cool enough to connect with the youth while providing the essential messages needed to change the minds, attitudes and perceptions about education in our youth.

As we look ahead Entertainers 4 Education Alliance will carry its messages to millions with the further development of the I WILL GRADUATE CAMPAIGN a call to action for students, parents, and the entire community to increase educational achievement in our youth.  And the I WILL GRADUATE Scholarship Fund which will provide educational grants to student in need.

We hope you will recognize the importance of our work and help us inspire a generation about the necessity of education. The best is yet to come…….

Why

Nationwide, nearly one in three U.S. high school students fail to graduate with a diploma. In total, approximately 1.2 millionstudents drop out each year – averaging 7,000 every school day or one  student every 26 seconds. Among minority students, the problem is even more severe with nearly 50percent of African American and Hispanic students who do not complete high school.  Sixteen of the nation’s 50 largest cities had a graduation rate lower than 50 percent in the principal school district serving the city. Cities in Crisis 2009: Closing the Graduation Gap funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
